As a Baylor graduate, I was intrigued that Baylor's Board of Regents chose Ken Starr to be its next President (he started June 1, 2010). I have written an essay for Touchstonemagazine (July/August 2010), "Lone Starr: The Eyes of More Than Texas Are on Baylor's New President," in which I offer some thoughts on Baylor. The article is not (yet) posted online, but the links above go to the Touchstone web page. I will post the essay online next month. To those who have not read Touchstone, I would recommend it highly.

Christians and the Health Care Debate

I took the opportunity to write a short piece in our local paper, The Jackson Sun, related to the current health care debate. Tom Bohs of the Sun had taken a gentle jab at the hesitancy of local churches to support "health care reform," and I wanted to respond. The piece can be found here: http://www.jacksonsun.com/article/20091025/OPINION/910250308/What-is-a-Christian-to-think-about-health-care? Justin Taylor posted a link on his blog, "Between Two Worlds," which is always informative: http://thegospelcoalition.org/blogs/justintaylor/. Interestingly, even Christianity Today's web site has picked up the piece. I may do more with it, and I am open to any feedback!

In relation to several writing projects I am working on, I have been thinking through the relationship between sin and knowledge. In simply wanting to read through sections of the Bible with this question (the issue of the relationship between sin and knowledge in the Bible) in mind, I did some searches using BibleWorks (it can do much more than this!). . .
