This is my convocation address given at Augustine School in the Fall of 2006.  The theme was Augustine and love and the nature of education.  The ideas presented here have been expanded into an article in the Fall 2009 edition of Churchman, and is available elsewhere on this site.

This address was the first convocation address given at Augustine School, given in 2004.  The themes of this address are being fleshed out in more detail for my forthcoming book with Crossway Publishers (www.crossway.org), The Cross and the Mind: The Recovery and Shaping of the Intellectual Life.

For five out of the last six years I have had the honor of giving the Fall Convocation address at Augustine School.  This address was given in August of 2008, and in it I discuss how education should ultimately be concerned with the formation of a certain type of person, and that we should always be thinking about the ultimate ends of education.
